What is visionary seeing?
We spend so much of our lives looking without really seeing.
Visionary Seeing is an invitation to slow down, step into nature and notice what is already there- the shapes in the bark, movement in the clouds, patterns in the landscape, colour, sound, texture, feeling and imagination.
Through simple guided practices, we explore the land, awaken our senses and bring what we discover into our creative practice.
You don’t need to be an artist.Â
You just need to be curious.
ART IS NOT THE GOAL. ART IS THE EVIDENCE.

We step onto the land with our sketchbooks and curiosity.
Through simple guided practices, we slow down and begin noticing what we might usually walk straight past- faces in bark, shapes in clouds, patterns, shadows, movement, sound and tiny details that call our attention.
There is nothing you need to find. Its simply about learning to look differently.

Create
We bring the morning’s marks, observations and discoveries back into our creative space and begin to play.
Using paint, texture and intuitive mark making, we’ll build a background on canvas- without needing to know what it will become.
                 Then we look again.
As the layers build, we start looking into the canvas, noticing shapes and images, then following whatever sparks our curiosity
There’s no right way for it to look and no pressure to create a masterpiece.
We begin with curiosity and allow the artwork to reveal itself.

We finish the day by coming back together- sharing food, conversation, stories and what has emerged through our creative process.
There’s no critique or comparing. Just a chance to see what ten different people discovered when given the same invitation to slow down, look closer and trust what appeared.
Sometimes the most interesting part isn’t what ended up on the canvas- its what you noticed about yourself along the way.

Nestled in the mountains of Northern NSW, Bindarrabi gives us bush, water, trees and open space to explore. The land isn’t simply where the day happens- it’s part of the experience.
